Middle/High School SEL

The Storytellers Project social/emotional learning curriculum is designed to increase emotional intelligence and healthy stress management skills in youth by encouraging them to use the arts as a self-regulation tool. This program examines essential questions that ask youth to express their feelings, identify healthy stress management skills, build empathy and recognize their strengths. Middle and High school students explore these topics through more in depth projects.

Grades: 6-12

Art and Social Justice

The Storytellers Project Art and Social Justice Program encourages youth to utilize the arts as a vehicle for social change. Students learn about servant leadership and identify leadership skills they already possess.They examine artists in their community who have used the arts to advocate for and create social change. Youth demonstrate their learning by executing a piece of visual or performance art that addresses a social issue that affects their community. This program can be custom designed to fit your schedule and programming needs.

EMPOWER: Teen Girls

The EMPOWER program is designed especially to help teen girls develop skills that will help them cope with struggles unique to young women. Youth in the EMPOWER program will explore several topics including self- esteem, body image, media portrayal of women, healthy relationships, sexual harassment, bullying and leadership.

Story Walls

The Story Walls program is a mural painting program that focuses on the values learned in the Storytellers social/emotional learning curriculum. Students will explore themes such as emotions, tolerance and coping skills in depth through the design and creation of a mural.
